Are you there?

So I lied, i was supposed to continue with my updates and all but failed to do so. ....Go ahead I'll let you call me a loser, slacker, lame, fart head, dummy, rhino butt, .....ok ok thats enough. Its been almost what like 9 months since my last entry and so much has happened. More so good things.Over all 2010 was amazing to me in so many ways, and so far 2011 hasn't been as bad either for a few lil minor things that need to be dealt with accordingly.

Lately, Ive been completely obsessed with Natural hair blogs, random Fashion related blogs hosted on sights such as Bloglovin, and the usual "can't pull away from the computer screen at 3am, knowing I have work in the next 5 hrs" Asian dramas. So for the past few months these and a few other activities which have some importance in my life, I have allowed to hoard my extra spare time from blogging....and you know what I'm ok with that. I hope to in the future continue to make more weekly entries. I think my issue was that I was trying to do a daily entry and didnt realize how time consuming and stressful that can be especially to the load of things I had on my plate in the already. But I'm sure I can do a 2-3 weekly entry that seems manageable.

So there you have it ladies and gents, the goal this day forward is to make an entry at least 2-3x a week.

::FIGHTING!!::

Day 5

pic via Nitrolicious

It's going on Day 5 and my computer is still fighting the cyber herpes its contracted from being a whore bag. The ability to not be able to plop down on my bed and watch hours of Asian dramas, facebook, waste meaningful hours web surfing, and uploading photos on to here because I am creeping at work updating my blog is really taking it's toll....but I am a strong woman and I will survive. Anyways this past weekend was ok...the usual weekend flo..Bday din din party , my Saturday ass kickin by Tyger B, and whatever randomness mixed in. Sunday was the debut of the Zac Posen for Target collection and I was hype. I had planned the night prior setting a game plan on which Target to hit up that would have the least amount of "non-fashionable" people living in its vicinity. This way I wouldn't have to knock out a biotch over the shirt and other goodies I saw. Sooo Sunday came and it was raining cats and dogs and I arrived to Target about 30-45 mins after the Target opened and made a bee line for the Women's section. I saw the clothes from like 50 feet away and could feel the smile automatically plaster across my face because the section was completely empty. So pat on the back for Tiffso, for picking the right Target to hit up. As I continued my decent upon the section, my face that contained a Kool-Aid smile bigger than the Kool-Aid man himself slowly lessened as I got a better view of the clothes....and boy was I disappointed.

WHY I'M REALIZING THAT THE GO INTERNATIONAL LINE IS A BUST....

1. I don't expect extravagant fabrics that was woven from Japanese silk worms or cotton that was hand pulled by someone on some foreign factory..but this stuff was soo stiff like it was saturated in Fabric starch. What happened to cotton or a nice soft cotton blend..not its crazy demented sisters Poly and Ester.

2. The clothes that I saw in the pictures looked 200 times better. So I felt dicked when I saw the items in person that I wanted to but buy and was completely saddened by its appearance. The power of photo shop and a decent DSLR camera.

3. When I tried on the clothes in my "Target sizes" apparently they were either too small or way to big. Even when I got them on there was no halo of light shining on my face not even a flicker....I got more of a glow from a Target brand skirt I picked up.

4. Even though we are at Target, I feel like the $24.50 that they want to charge for this designer can be spent on something else of better quality, so that I wont be cursing myself out later because the $24.50 tee that I wore twice stretched out or bled colors.

In the end I walked out Target Zac Posen-less but with my bare necessities...toothpaste, some Soap, allergy medicine, a DVD, other items that I probably didnt need but couldn't turn down because it nicely priced and a hot dog in hand. So honestly, I was relieved that my pockets weren't sittin on cotton and that the money I thought I would be dishing out would be going to future purchases of something else.

Freaky Friday

Today started off on the Crap Scale on level craptacular. I discovered my my first born e-baby Dell contracted cyber herpes so I can't use any programs on my computer. I feel like an unfit mother, so I'll be updating from random places until I get this malware virus off.

So, as I continued my daily routine of working for the man I decided to gorge myself in whatever I felt like for breakfast....Egg white with turkey sausage on a bagel. I know it isn't the Lumberjack deluxe at Denny's but it's a 180 for me, and I failed to mention I had tapioca pudding on the side too :P. But as the day continued to move on small rays of hope was able to beam through my fog of discouragement and blight. Uncle Sam came through and helped me get rid of some unnecessary debt so the Crap Scale meter moved to level crap.

And then lunch time rolled around....and then I walked past Barney's Co-op...then went into Barney's Co-op because a lady was having trouble getting her stroller in the door....went to the shoe department.......

AND I lie to not I heard the sound of violins, harps, followed by an orchestra and Italian ladies singing opera tunes of :

"AAAAAWWWWWWWWW HHHHHAAAAAAAA LLLLLAAA,

looketh at meee arent I fiiinnnnnneeee

Trrrrryy mee onn inn yourrrrrr

SIIIIIIIIZZZEEEEEEEEEEE"

And that is what I did because I walked out the store feeling uber better with 2 pairs of shoes for the summer :) ....I got them in Black and in the green because I thought it would be different. They are better in person than via photo.

Friends don't lie to friends

Dear P,

I feel as though I need to really express my real feelings on our "relationship". You come every month usually around the same time or unexpected as if we are close friends, bringing nothing but sad side glances and a week of attitude. At least a true friend would bring me candy or some delights, but not you. I think you need to pick up a Webster and read what the definition of friend is. By writing this I thought it would clear up the air and put both parties on the same wave length. WE ARE NOT FRIENDS. I may call you my "friend" but please please understand I am using it in a sarcastic tone whenever I use this adjective with you. If anything for a better choice of wording your more of a nuisance then a friend, maybe even borderline frenemy. I know this is harsh, but after evaluating out relationship for of the past 15 something years of my life this is how I truly view you. I could remember the time when you purposely embarrassed me on various occasions, even tho I turned the other cheek and probably cursed you out under my breath a few times, I still accepted you. A true friend would never do such things. I recall our first meeting and it involved lots of phone calls from my mother, grandmothers, and aunts. No child under the age of 16 wants to discuss you to a family relative. I'm sure you gushed in delight ( 0_0). The list goes on and on.

It's even to the point when my male friends have noticed and have called you as being a "Debbie downer", a "Cock blocker", and other negative comments which I shall not repeat. The point is I really don’t like you that much and am happier when your not around.

But there were times when I did grow concern for you because you came a few days late with out any notice. Being inconsiderate of another person's time is not acceptable. We live in 2010, you could've tweeted, skyped, fbooked, emailed, used smoke signals, pen palled, or even called to let me know of your late arrival. Being considerate is what build strong bonds that make relationships meaningful. I'm not sure if I could ever give you the friend sticker. Yeah we have gone through a lot but damnit I just don't feel you at times. There were a few occasions when I did welcome you with open arms but I don't think it will have a big impact on my feelings for you.

I mean we are stuck together for the next 30 plus years. We can't always choose who we want to be with, but sometimes we get stuck with that person and just have to deal with. Let's just get along and bae this ride that is called life. I hope that this letter will not offend you but only bring a clear understanding and a continuing cordialitity ( is that even a real word) among us.

Yours truely,
Tiffsoyo

P.s. see you next month loser

"So you think you can dance?.....According to my teacher I can NOW WHAT NINJAAAA!

I'm sooo hyped today because I got approached by one of my three "hip-hop" (I hate using that word) teachers that I could move up to the next group level. This is how in my mind the conversation went::

Sitting in the bathroom/change room sweating and panting like crazy....in walks "C"

C: Why don't you come to the other class* any more? (*other means her beginner/ intermediate class, I'm currently in her intro/beginner class)

I felt as though a spot light and heavenly music began to play

Me: Huuuh, because I went the one time and I was like wtfrench toast is going on. My arms and legs were flinging all over like a muppet.

C: Naww I think your getting way better and should consider doing doubles

Me: Really! ( so hyped at this point, yet trying to play cool) I feel as though I am getting better and was considering trying the next level again.

C: You should, you may have a few times where it may feel awkward but you will catch on...blah blah..see you next week

:: And she leaves, and I am sitting there like "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! LOOK AT ME NOW LOOOK AT MEEEE NOOOOOOWWW!!! HAAAAAHhahahahahahahahahahha::

So yes I am pressed and will be soon attending the next level in classes. Which also means.......soon I will be good enough to be filmed!!! Please cue in the Jefferson's theme music.

Also here are two videos of my favorite teachers...the first one is Colette Tini and the other is Tyger B. I think they are so awesome to the point were I still find myself in awe and still a bit shy and quiet when in class with them.

She is the one with the red plaid shirt on. I love her she is soooo funny during class.

This one is Tyger B....aka the "silent killer" because he comes off as quiet in class but will work you like your enrolled in a boot camp and have yourself asking if "This is beginner right?" and "If your being punished by God for eating that entire pizza by yourself the previous night, when you shouldve had a salad" several times during the warm up. But I heart him anyways.

Dear Spring, I can't wait to see you this weekend

So it's supposed to be in the 70's come Thursday and Friday and then hit the 80's come Saturday. Lets just say I am uber hyped and can't wait. It's kinda of like that feeling you had when you where a lil tike and were invited to your very first or second sleepover. And during that whole weekend you spent days outside running around, staying up late, eating freeze pops and junk food and absorbing the wonderful sunlight, because you grew tired of days indoors for past months prior. I don't know what I'll be doing exactly, but it does involve just being outdoors all day long. I can't wait wait...this will be just a wonderful tease of the summer months to come.
"Come make it rain on me with your sun rays"
.......see you soon :) xox
Sound byte: J*Davey- Get together.....I can't wait for this cd to drop

DON'T CALL IT A COME BACK...but it is that

It's been a minute and a half. And yeah alot has gone on in my life more good and great than ok. I will try my best to do a brief summary if that is even necessary, but I'll just start from here as my marker as the beginning.

But yeah, let's place the focus back on me ,as those who are new and unaware. Alot of changes from the inside and outside have been going on. My most current and most hyped change which I am loving 100x to the infinite power is my BC. BC= big chop whom aren't game to the "natural hair " terminology. I've went from 20 something odd years of rocking straight locks thanks to the creamy crack to coming to terms and having a pow-wow with myself again. I like to call my "new" hair "Amina"...it was more so given to me,so for future reference Amina is the name of my hair.

Here are some pics of me to give you a brief time line of hair journey: (cue in the opening music of the Lion King Please)

Me circa 1987 maybe- before a perm super thick, pressed and happy

Sometime in the early 1990's when acid wash, Pee Wee Herman, MC Hammer and Fraggle Rock was still in syndication on tv...am I showing my age?

My high school picture for being art student of the month...how I sometimes miss those days

Fast forward to Junior Year of College still rocking long hair but going through a short "Corinne Bailey Rae" phase of spirals all over. This style was a hit and a shocker for those who were used to me with straight hair....

Ahhh, My summer in Germany after graduating college. I swear my hair was the healthiest, thickest and longest during my time here. I blame their "hard" yet unfiltered vitamin enriched water. I miss Europe.

Another picture of me that I took while there and waiting on a ride....the things I do while alone...

Summer of 2009, hair is still good, but during this time I did notice it getting a little thinner than before. Yet still unfazed but I just opt for a new style to help make it appear thicker...

So I got bangs and got it layered it in the back, but grew over the bangs in a few weeks

Then a week before Christmas 2009, I hacked it off after getting tired of it sweating out in dance class and just noticing it getting thinner and thinner...I figured from this point and from doing research months prior to I would go natural and figured that this would be a good "transition" phase and also the ability to see what my natural hair curl pattern is...

I liked it initially and thought that by having shorter hair would be less maintenance, but I definitely misread the memo and it more work than ever. I tried to maintain this style but it lasted for a good 3months and I was tired of the civil war which was Perm vs the Natural going on. After three months of battling it out the Natural took over and I was definitely loving my curly hair which I never knew I had.

And then on a rainy Friday night on March 12,2009 the battle ended by cutting off the remainder of the relaxed ends off for good. And that is where I am at. Relaxer free and a curly mini fro or twa (teeny weeny afro).

So, this is where I am a new journey in getting reacquainted with life while still, dealing with the everyday life of life and making the best from it. Stay tuned as I will update and definitely show you a glimpse of my life.

UMMM can we say Showstopper

So I feel as though I need to find these sneakers, just so I can look ultra fly when in dance class. I feel as though with these sneakers I could climb mountains, moonwalk across small streams, pop lock and tutt all over the streets of downtown Philly. With a pair of sneaks like these your outfit should be dumb simple because the sneaks are good on its own. If any one knows the name of this sneaker..PLEASE Please tell me :)

Back like a bad habit

Hola,

I'm back in action to give this blog thing another try, I will try to be faithful like a prostitute to her Pimp Daddy Dobop. Life I can say since my last post which was July/August-ish has been a like a bouquet of mixed flowers..colorful, fun, a lil dull, but overall pleasing to the eye. If I went into complete detail you would probably stop coming around so I wont. I'll just fill you in when necessary. So yeah, in the last post I mentioned a new direction, and there will be you just have to stick around to see these changes.

Anyways, today is Friday..Thank you God Almighty, because the week have been long and cold. The weather in Philly has been labeled or diagnosed as completely bi-polar because clearly last week I was able to frolic the streets in a t-shirt or light jacket, but this week just jumped from fall straight to winter. To the point where I had to vacuum the dust off my Ugg boots (however I still refused to wear them) and throw on layers of t-shirts (because I forgot I got rid of a lot of my winter gear last year). It's been rainy and just completely disgusting to the point I broke down and purchased some Hunter rain boots or galoshes because my faithful moccasins don't come equipped with rain blocker abilities.

So as I continue to wear my moccs till I get my new moccs thats about it for today. As you can see its like 3pm-ish, and I'm clearly not doing any work...I blame the weather and the fact that I'm tired from my last several days of hanging out to wee hours of the morning.

So,what do you have planned for the weekend? Me creating visual miracles at my PTJ (part time job), entertaining and amusing my friends, hip hopping, and enhancing my Chinese...yeahhh boii sounds like 2 days of unbearable fun right there. My life isn't that sad, trust me...just this weekend.
For those who are close to me and are apart of my "Tiffso's Morning Thoughts Program" , I like to ask random questions or give some great liners just to start the day good on a happier note. You can say it's like apart of your complete breakfast like that box of Wheaties and OJ on the side. Well I will start sharing some of these thoughts here...because its my blog.

Well have a good weekend see you loves later.

----Tiffsoyo :)

Tiffso's Question of the day: If a company offered a service like Car Facts for cars but had something geared towards prospect/potential dates called "Date Facts", would you use it or would you go about the traditional way and just see what happens between you and your prospect?

and final thought of the day: Always knock first ....(not all surprises are good, but they can be amusing)

Black is the new Broke

How I realized again that the U.S. is in a recession:

Today was a good day in so many ways..

1) received 2 paychecks in the mail so that means the bills are paid (on time...always..having a good credit record is always a necessity),

2) I had a banging playlist at work,

3) Urban outfitters was having there supercafal...(the word Marry Poppins used, I cant spell it) sale, were ALL sale items got an additional 50% knocked off the price and I came out like a CHAMPIONE (yes if its spelled this way like the french it waaay better than the English word of champion)

4) Work was cool, (until)....

However all things slowly turned sour for a good 20 mins. As I explained above all was going well until I realized ,"Hey I need to buy tokens for the week". So I made a stop at the MAC machine (ATM ) and withdrew my $10 and G walked to 13th street to where I knew I was going to get a guaranteed single seat on the trolley. As I made my way pass Ubiq and a few other stores off Walnut st. it dawned on me that I was $.15 short of getting my 7 tokens. I didn't want to waste a fresh ten and come out short on the discount of getting my 7 tokens so I figured instead of hitting up the ATM again to withdraw another ten and then having to make change I was feelin sure I could find either a nickel, dime or quarter laying somewhere in the cracks of the street. Well let me tell you I walked from 17th n Walnut to 13th n Market with out scoping a twinkle of a silver or copper anywhere. I had people looking at me all strange because I was looking on the ground like some bloodhound searching for loose change. I never felt so frustrated for all 5 plus blocks, any other time I can eye spy at least a nickel or penny laying around here and there but today nothing but a large total count of cigarette buts, chewed up and dried up gum, random lone weaves pieces and other things . I then came to the conclusion that you know its getting ruff because the homeless people have the streets on lock when it comes to change. It's like they have spider sense for when change hits the ground. It's like they are after it like how lions hunt down antelope in the pride lands. (I know I may go to hell for saying this, but it's how I thought at the time...sorry and no offense to anyone)Luckily my dear friend Helen who was in the area was able to come to my rescue and give me the needed $.15...aaaaaaah I love my co-workers

i want to become better

So yeah I know I have been absent/a slacker/procrastinating/ (insert other similar adjectives) here. There is no excuse nor will I make any because the first few adjectives do describe some of the things which has caused me to c-block my blogging duties. But I will make this clear just so that there is an understanding on both ends...I will try my best to update this, however that does not mean on a daily...I will aim for 2-3 a week. But besides that I am doing well:

taking in the freshly brewed Oxygen each day, making mistakes and learning from them as well as learning from others mistakes because it is not possible to make every mistake that is humanly possible, listening/ discovering/"DJ-ing"/ and rediscovering old music, making friends, working like Kunta's long lost run away cousin, reading, studying, runajogawalkin (thats a new exercise I created :) ), eating waterice, and just trying to busy myself...and of course trying to see my friends here and there.

I'm still on my Clazziquai Project ish. That group is like....like...so many things that my soul and ears crave for...its like my new addiction. I can't get enough of them and Alex Chu who is 1/2 of the group who has his own solo cd..which is fire. One of my favorite songs from his cd entitled "My Vintage Romance" is the song Miss Understand f/ Simon Dominic (Simon D). The song is sung in his native language which is Korean, but it is definately a good song whether or not u can understand the words. You can sense the feeling and soul in it (well I do). Listen
