Black is the new Broke

How I realized again that the U.S. is in a recession:

Today was a good day in so many ways..

1) received 2 paychecks in the mail so that means the bills are paid (on time...always..having a good credit record is always a necessity),

2) I had a banging playlist at work,

3) Urban outfitters was having there supercafal...(the word Marry Poppins used, I cant spell it) sale, were ALL sale items got an additional 50% knocked off the price and I came out like a CHAMPIONE (yes if its spelled this way like the french it waaay better than the English word of champion)

4) Work was cool, (until)....

However all things slowly turned sour for a good 20 mins. As I explained above all was going well until I realized ,"Hey I need to buy tokens for the week". So I made a stop at the MAC machine (ATM ) and withdrew my $10 and G walked to 13th street to where I knew I was going to get a guaranteed single seat on the trolley. As I made my way pass Ubiq and a few other stores off Walnut st. it dawned on me that I was $.15 short of getting my 7 tokens. I didn't want to waste a fresh ten and come out short on the discount of getting my 7 tokens so I figured instead of hitting up the ATM again to withdraw another ten and then having to make change I was feelin sure I could find either a nickel, dime or quarter laying somewhere in the cracks of the street. Well let me tell you I walked from 17th n Walnut to 13th n Market with out scoping a twinkle of a silver or copper anywhere. I had people looking at me all strange because I was looking on the ground like some bloodhound searching for loose change. I never felt so frustrated for all 5 plus blocks, any other time I can eye spy at least a nickel or penny laying around here and there but today nothing but a large total count of cigarette buts, chewed up and dried up gum, random lone weaves pieces and other things . I then came to the conclusion that you know its getting ruff because the homeless people have the streets on lock when it comes to change. It's like they have spider sense for when change hits the ground. It's like they are after it like how lions hunt down antelope in the pride lands. (I know I may go to hell for saying this, but it's how I thought at the time...sorry and no offense to anyone)Luckily my dear friend Helen who was in the area was able to come to my rescue and give me the needed $.15...aaaaaaah I love my co-workers
